Beats: Apple (AAPL) Stores may soon , reports 9to5Mac. News that the tech company’s stores may soon start offering after-sale services on Beats comes from a screenshot of a letter that is claimed to have been sent to Apple Service Providers. The letter has a published date of Oct. 14, 2014 and claims that the service providers will offer after-sale services on “Beats headphones, speakers, accessories and audio software.” If the letter is authentic, it could mean similar changes will happen at the tech company’s retail locations.
Launch
: A new rumor claims that Apple , MacRumors notes. According to the rumor, the company has started shipping large amounts of new products in preparation for a Oct. release. The products being shipped weren’t named and it can’t be confirmed that they are indeed new iPads. However, a Oct. 24 launch would fall in line with the company’s strategy of releasing devices a week after they’ve been unveiled. The new iPads are expected to be showed off at the company’s press event on Oct. 16.
Smartlock: Apple Stores , reports AppleInsider. The August Smart Lock will retail for $249.99 and is also available on the company’s online store. The smartlocks work by picking up Bluetooth signals sent from an iOS app. The device will unlock a user’s door wirelessly and virtual keys can be shared with friends and family members. The device uses four AA batteries that can keep it running for up to six months.
