Leading the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) rumor mill today is news of faster wireless charging for the iPhone 8. Today, we’ll look at that and other for Tuesday.
iPhone 8 Wireless Charging: , reports AppleInsider. A new report claims that Apple will be releasing a firmware update later this year to increase wireless charging speeds. The current charging rate while using wireless is comparable to 5 watts. It’s possible that the tech company could increase the wireless charging rate to roughly 15 watts, based on Wireless Power Consortium’s Qi standard.
32-Bit Apps: ,
BGR notes. This means that anyone with 32-bit apps on their devices will need to find alternatives after the update. It is also likely that many developers will upgrade their apps to 64-bit follow the update. Developers have had plenty of time to do this. Apple first started accepting 64-bit apps with the release of the iPhone 5s in 2013.
Watch 3 Shortages: , reports MacRumors. According to this report, the LTE version of the Watch Series 3 is seeing more orders than expected. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims this is due to the small difference in price between it and the non-LTE version. Kuo also claims that iPhone 8 and 8 Plus devices aren’t selling as fast as normal. This is due to customers holding off for the iPhone X, which will come out later this year.
